Most afterschool work sessions start off with a review of aircraft systems. In addition to teardown and rebuild of a Continental C85, the team did an oil analysis on the Taylorcraft. High school youth, learning to cut open an oil filter, discovering old starter metal shavings, and installing a new starter….a priceless experience. This IS the “Spirit of Aviation” in action.
