A great field trip to pick up a Nieuport 11 Bi-plane. This is a 7/8’s Graham-Lee designed replica that has been donated to our chapter. Many thanks to Mike Williams in helping connect us to this opportunity, giving the Young Eagles a tour of his shops and sharing some of his aviation stories. His Tiger Moth watched over the entire event.
A good read on from the AOPA on Smart Fying - Pitch and Power. An especially Must Read for students…
Aerobatic routines are fun to watch, and my favorite performers use aircraft with a low power-to-weight ratio that are representative of the general aviation fleet.
A great outing this evening with our Young Eagles, new and not so new. We had Jaden Decker join us. Jaden was a Young Eagle with our chapter. He recently graduated from college and has just received his A&P certificate. Kyler is our 2022 Ray Scholar attending college and hoping to work at the local airport. Noah our 2023 Ray Scholar. And 5 new chapter Young Eagles. We visited the North Vernon EAA chapter to see their RV12 build as well as Jeff Malcom’s complete RV12. Followed by pizza!!! Great fun and new friends.
We are pleased to share with Chapter #729 that we’ve received an estate donation of a 7/8’s replica of a WWI Nieuport 17 fighter bi-plane with a Continental C85 engine. We will organize a team to help relocate, clean, and inventory it at a future date. There is an opportunity here to use it to fund future build projects.
