Off to a good start on the Zentih build. Wrapped up the practice rudder with signatures and a little “artwork”. Next, what to do with a 12’x4’x3’ wooden shipping container? Recycle the materials and build work tables!!!

Next up, inventory and organize the kit parts.

After 3 shipment delays over 4 weeks, and 2 delivery delays over 4 days, our Zenith CH650B kit has arrived!!! Built out one of the assembly tables (saw horses and repurposed crate packaging), removed a ton of packing material, and pulled a few parts out to get a better look at everything inside. Next up is making the investment in time to inventory, group, and organize everything.

The students finally were able to start pulling rivets on the practice rudder. After a cleaning it was ready for signatures and a little artwork. This is going to make a fine decoration for our Youth Workshop Wall.

Our May Chapter Gathering featured updates with the Southern Indiana Sonex Squadron (that’s what they call themselves). It featured build updates on the SonexB (James), WaiexB (Bill), and a featured guest appearance of a legacy Sonex (Dan). Bill also gave a brief presentation on fiberglass.

I’m not exactly sure what drew people in, the hamburgers, hotdogs, desserts, or the airplanes?
