Had a visit from Ken Erickson with the Bartholomew RC Flyers, looked like just a big ol’ RC airplane hahahaha. Good Zenith build session this evening with the students and adults. Will wrap up the rudder assembly then take it and the horizontal assembly to storage. Pulled the parts for the ailerons and flaps, but still missing the piano hinges and main spars (on backorder).

The chapter adult build sessions (Weds 6pm-8pm) and Saturdays (8am-noonish) is focused on the Zenith 650 Fuselage. If you want to learn a few more aviation specific tools, pull some rivets, make some aluminum chips, and learn to read prints….join us. Our students are working Monday & Wed 4pm to 6pm.

In recognition of National Aviation day and Orville Wright’s birthday on the 19th of August, Chapter 729 and the Bakalar Flying Club held a Friends and Family Fish Fry. All the fixings, hamburgers, hotdogs, sides and awesome desserts. Special musical guests and rocket builds rounded out the entertainment. Great food, great time, great friends.
