Gold Level Chapter
Whether you fly, build, restore or simply enjoy airplanes and aviation, you are welcome to attend our events and join our chapter. We are a group of aviation enthusiasts, aircraft builders, and pilots who get together with like-minded people to share ideas, exchange information, encourage safety, serve the local aviation community and have a lot of fun doing so. The Young Eagles program, part of the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA), introduces young people ages 8-17 to the world of aviation by offering free introductory flights. Launched in 1992, the program is run by volunteer pilots who are passionate about sharing the joy of flight with the next generation. Each Young Eagles flight is more than just a ride; it’s a hands-on experience where kids can learn about airplanes, the basics of flight, and safety. Since its inception, the program has provided over two million young people with their first aviation experience, inspiring future pilots and aviation enthusiasts across the globe.
EAA Chapter 729 is proud to own a Redbird TD flight simulator, a high-quality, FAA-certified training device perfect for pilots and aspiring aviators. It’s a new year and a fresh start for our youth and the Zenith build. Work continues on the wing and we are dry fitting the tail cone and floor pan of the flight deck together ahead of drill & cleco. We took the opportunity to view some other members builds, a Zenith 601 and a recently completed SonexB. Giving everyone a vision of the journey we are on….

Our 2023 Ray Scholar, Noah Shatto is our newest chapter pilot. Here he is with CFI Roy Farris, and DPE Ethan Malavolti. Noah is the model of perseverance, working through numerous plane mechanical issues, weather, and at least 7 Checkride reschedules. But then again, that’s the young man we’ve come to know him to be. On a side note, he is also our chapters newest and youngest Board of Directors member.
