When you feed a group a pancake breakfast, you have to follow it with some work around the hangar. Good opportunity to do a few upgrades to our facility and build sawhorses for a modular work table system for our Zenith build.

And thus, it begins. The afterschool student members have started building the practice rudder for the upcoming Zenith CH650B Zodiac build. They start with a review of the assembly docs and prints, prep the parts, dry fitting to ensure the assembly makes sense. Then, measure 3x, mark, and make the first cut.

Congrats to Noah Shatto, our 2023 Ray Scholar. As part of the program, Noah has been awarded a Lightspeed Zulu avionics headset for completing his first solo and submission of an essay.

Like Christmas in April. We’ve purchase our initial consumables (drills, debur tools) and hand tools to get the shop set up and ready for the pending Zenith delivery. Kept the students busy this evening inventorying, unpacking, assembling, organizing…. All a part of the process. Also have set up a Builders Log in the EAA to start recording expenses and activities.
